As Shore, As Dream

As Shore, As Dream is an ongoing installation performance that traces how personal and collective histories flow, fragment, and merge like water, like stories. It gathers those present and absent who are here now, who once were, and who may never have been into a night of Ghost 2568: Wish We Were Here.

We understand the work as a living archive: emotions, fictions, the living and the dead, the memories we forget and the ones we remake. All of these count as history, and all of them belong in the archive. Moving between writing from sound and making sound from writing, we call back the past and hold the present before it slips away, while accepting the gentle work of forgetting. We come ashore in each other’s dreams. Swimming toward, away, and around one another. Circling, returning, and learning until we reach a dream shore that is ours, and are ready to depart again, letting the new current continue.
